10th January 2016

Hi everyone. It has been a busy week as I have added several pieces to the shop front. I have been working on the designs for a while now and have finally produced some finished pieces. The rosebud designs in particular have taken a lot of work. The actual rosebud is quite a simple design, with many tutorials on YouTube showing how to make it. There are also plenty of patterns for jewellery pieces using this design but rather than using existing patterns I like to incorporate different elements into my own designs. This one is very time consuming, Roses are Red took approx 2 hours to make, even after working out the initial design, cord lengths etc, hence the price.
Of course any piece of knotwork could already exist as each piece is made up of just a few simple knots in various combinations but as far as can be certain, none of my recent pieces have been copied. Some of my earlier pieces were from tutorials as I learnt my craft and I still watch tutorials to pick up new ideas to incorporate with my style.
I have also added more bookmarks to the shop, another dragonfly, two owls and an abstract design which is a section of the Elven Star design.
I will be adding several of these pieces to Creative with Nature, the local gallery/workshop where my work is stocked.
I did my first 3 day week this last week which was wonderful, something I can definitely get used to. I have only worked 4 days for a few years now but it is amazing how much more time another day gives. I intended to have an easy day the first few weeks, just to enjoy not working but actually I had so much energy to get on with things that I filled the day.
Well tomorrow is a work day, so I will leave for now. See you next week.
Anne xx
