2025 Round Up

2025 Round Up

Wow… what a year 2025 has been for Painting by Blocks! I honestly could not have imagined my first year would be so varied or that it would attract people of all ages. From after-school clubs to workshops, it’s been amazing.

"Switch off, have a bit of “me time”, try something new, relax, chat and be creative"Wow… what a year 2025 has been for Painting by Blocks! I honestly could not have imagined my first year would be so varied or that it would attract people of all ages. From after-school clubs to workshops, it’s been amazing.

The after-school clubs have been such a highlight, especially working with the brilliant Year 4, 5 and 6 children. Their energy, enthusiasm, and imagination honestly make every session so much fun.

One of the absolute sweetest moments this year was running a workshop with my youngest group of Rainbows, who were making Mother’s Day gifts. They were completely adorable and such a joy to work with, lots of concentration, excitement, and proud little faces.

I have loved running workshops for teens and adults too, and one thing I really enjoy is hearing about why people come along. Some want to switch off and have a bit of “me time”, some come to try something new, others want to make friends, enjoy good company, or just have a relaxed chat while being creative. Whatever the reason, it is so lovely to see everyone leave feeling the time has been enjoyable and beneficial.

That said, it definitely hasn’t all been easy. Behind the scenes there’s been a lot of figuring things out – finding the right venues, getting pricing right, and coming up with fresh ideas and products. Wondering if I am getting it right is my big worry.

The festive break gave me a much needed chance to reset and think about my goals for 2026, and I’m feeling really excited. One of my biggest events coming up is my very first two day craft festival in Sussex! I’ll be busy making lots of lovely things to sell and also running workshops too. I am very excited and also a tad nervous but I can’t wait.

Here’s to more printing, bringing arts and crafts back into the community, meeting lots more people and just having fun!

If having a go at traditional block printing is something you would like to try why not get in touch . Block printing is super easy , you will be amazed at what you can create. All materials are provided . We love meeting new people. classes are small and friendly. Come along!
