Crochet Squircle

Crochet Squircle I taught myself to crochet from YouTube. Yes, I actually did. Did you know that YouTube does, in fact, have useful educational videos? Who knew. I thought it was all cats and memes. Anyway, I digress.

I have always wanted to have a go at crochet. My mother was an avid knitter and as a child had a go, managing eventually, to produce a very holey attempt at a scarf. I never ‘got the bug’. Many, many years into adulthood, wanting a new hobby and seeing a Crochet magazine at a friend’s house one day over coffee, now was the time.

Once I had taught myself the basics, which I wont lie, took many hours, swear words, pausing and re-starts, I found this pattern online from an awesome blogger named Debi Y for her gorgeous Crochet Squircle.

Her pattern is so easy to follow (yes even for me) and once I had practised a few, there was no stopping me. I became a little crochet obsessed. As my pile of squircles grew, I thought, what on earth am I going to do with all of these squares? I then had the outstanding idea of sewing them together to make a bag. I have a couple of pillowcases ready to line my gorgeous new bag and this is the current level I have reached. Work in progress. I will update (eventually) if and I when I finally get round to finishing it.
