4th November 2016 Exhibition Weekend

Good afternoon, thought I would post early this week as I will be busy at the exhibition this weekend.
This morning I dropped my 8 pieces off at Earth Spirit ready for them to display when they reopen after refurbishment.
This afternoon I will be popping upto the Town Hall to help with the setting up for the exhibitors to display their work.
As a member of the art group it is upto us to set up all the boards and tables and also to do the display for the childrens exhibition which are works of art from children in our local schools. These are not for sale but there are prizes for the best ones.
In past years there has been an admission fee which helps to fund the group as we are a non profit making organisation with our own gallery and studios with obvious running costs but this year we are having free admission with a raffle instead. All the prizes are donated by our members and there will be some lovely gifts to win.
I am really looking forward to taking part and have a new piece especially for the event. As we are coming upto Remembrance Day I have done a piece inspired by this and 20 percent of the price once sold will be donated to the poppy appeal.
The event opens at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday and will close at 5pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.
Apart from the childrens work all the other arts and crafts are for sale and there are some lovely pieces especially coming upto Christmas.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance also has a stall which is a charity we regularly contribute to.
