Good evening, I have had a fantastic weekend away these last few days. Spent with my other half in our motor home, we went to Bolton Abbey. The weather has been glorious, cool but clear and sunny. Our days were spent walking in the woodland and as the evenings have started to darken early, I spent a few hours trying out some new knots.
As I said last week, much of my work has been done with traditional macramé knots but there are many more knots which I want to explore.
I love making the tree wall hangings but have several other ideas for new work. They will still be nature themed and many of my ideas come while out in our fantastic woodlands but I am inspired by all nature, especially that of the British Isles.
Much of my macramé work is made using a chain or sennit of a single knot or a selection of knots worked together to form a pattern.
Most of the knots I have been looking at this weekend are not suitable for working as a chain but are more for individual designs.
The picture here shows a small selection of those I have been trying out. The more intricate ones can take me quite a while to get the hang of even when following diagrams or photos and I must admit where possible I like to understand how the knots form rather than just following a diagram to get the end result.
Anyway, that is my news for the week, please feel free to comment or tell me your news.
Until next week.
Anne xx
