3rd July 2016 Exhibition Preview

Good evening, what a fantastic night Friday was. The exhibition preview went really well with quite a few sales on the night for several of the artists including myself. It runs until the end of the month and it would be lovely if I could sell more so fingers crossed.
Onset of Spring was sold almost before the exhibition began as there had been an enquiry from a local lady who works at a fab shop called Earth Spirit in my home town a few miles away in Hebden Bridge.
Unfortunately I had not at the time been able to do the price tags but luckily she attended the preview evening and bought the piece.
As it is one of my favourites I am a little sad to see it go but absolutely delighted that someone loves it enough to want to display it in their own home.
After speaking to the lady, I have also been asked if I would like to put some of my work into the shop. My tree designs would fit in really well there and I hope maybe some of my owls as well.
It is with this in mind that I have begun to plan more pieces. I loved working with the wool sample and have been in touch with the supplier who loved the tree piece and has now become its new owner.
I met up with her over the weekend and have purchased both mill and handspun wool in a selection of natural colours, all undyed but with the option to dye my own so expanding the range.
The mill spun is from the local herd but is combined with wool from other herds in the UK. They are however of the same breed. The handspun is purely from the local herd and spun by the supplier.
I am really looking forward to working with a local supplier and cant wait to start work on new pieces and hopefully see my work in my home town.
