5th June 2016

Hi everyone. Its been another lovely week weatherwise and it really lifts the spirits to have sunshine and warmth. Its not exactly flaming June but its welcome non the less.
Im still working away on my latest piece for the exhibition. So far Ive put in quite a few hours and I still have a few to go. I must admit it has taken longer than I thought but much of that has been rework. I tend to have an idea in my head when I start a piece but no fixed design so it evolves as it goes along. Unfortunately if the piece isnt working as it progresses, I have to undo it and take a different direction. Fortunately for my customers, the rework is not charged to them. Each piece is a learning curve for me and a labour of love, once I have finished a piece I make notes and take pictures for future reference so to produce another piece along the same lines would take less time. It is this time which the customer pays for.
Apart from this piece, the rest of the exhibition has been planned, photos and sizes have been sent to the gallery and I have my contract. Really looking forward to being part of the exhibition and hoping it may lead to more.
I have no more news on the Todmorden festival and although as I said last week I have been allocated a table, it is only a fortnight away so really hoping for more information soon. Fortunately I have plenty of pieces ready for this. I hope to show a couple of my smaller wall hangings as well as a selection of turtles and many jewellery pieces. The exact display will depend how big the table is and where I am placed.
No more to tell you at the moment but I will keep you posted and leave you this week with an older version of my owl.
Anne xx
