This painting is of a beautiful young Japanese girl in profile. Completed in pencil. I hope that I have achieved a sense of youthfulness, innocence, serenity but a tinge of apprehension. A geisha or geeking, is a Japanese woman who entertains through performing the ancient traditions of art, dance and singing. They are distinctively characterised by traditional costumes and makeup.
This young girl is about to get ready for her performance hence the feeling of apprehension and contemplation.
