An amazing iron rowel-spur, over 600 years old!

A hand-forged, medieval rowel spur, lost over 600 years ago.

The iron has been professionally cleaned and preserved via a combination of electrolysis and acid etching, leaving the characteristic gun-metal look of many iron antiquities. This stunning artefact is one of a collection of five purchased on the UK antiquities market in 2018, formerly part of a private collection formed prior to 2000.
