Rainbow mosaic fused glass dish

A square glass fish in rainbow colours

This vibrant handmade fused glass bowl will add a splash of colour to any home. Perfect for serving nuts, chocolates or biscuits, or eye-catching as a decorative feature as a trinket dish on a table or shelf. When the sun shines through it, it throws a lovely multi-coloured shadow.

This bowl is made from hand cut glass, assembled and fired in my kiln at home. I have cut individual small pieces of opal and transparent glass in reds, oranges, yellows, blues, greens and purples and carefully arranged them to create a rainbow effect. I have added a few pieces of matching dichroic or iridescent glass to create extra sparkle. Once fused, the dish has been fired again in a ceramic mould to create a gentle curve.

This dish measures 15cm by 15cm and is approximately 3cm deep (6x6x1). It is 6mm thick and has been annealed in the kiln and left to cool slowly for additional strength. As it is made by hand, each bowl is unique in appearance.
