Naked Raku Ceramic Vase
Wheel thrown, naked raku vase.
Its about 14x13cm.
Naked raku is a variation of the raku technique in which a slip is applied to the pot before it is placed in the raku kiln. The slip cracks and breaks apart during the firing and is chipped off after to reveal a blackened crackle pattern.
Each vase is unique in its finish as well as its form. Compared to stoneware pottery and glazes Raku ware is more ephemeral. Not food safe, not water tight.
Raku potterys function is decorative.
