A table lamp made from 1000 year old+ oak stained black by the peat in the Fenlands of East Anglia.
This table lamp is made from an ancient piece of oak retrieved from the Fens of East Anglia. The oak has been submerged in the peat rich dark soils for many hundreds of years staining it black and eventually unearthed by agricultural cultivation. It has been planed flat on two sides and polished. The rest of the lamp retains its natural shape and surface.
The lamp has an Edison Screw bulbholder supported by a stainless steel stem. It is 45 cms tall and comes electrically tested for safety.
