This Style of chain has been Handmade since the early bronze age in the middle east, and may go even further back to the early bronze age. The Foxtail Chain is the machine-made Modern version.
This chain has an even snake-like smooth movement, perfectly round as it is pulled through draw plates. In fact, the process is a long lengthy one starting with the fine silver (9.99 wire) which is pulled through draw plates, individual links made and soldered then linked individually. In between all this the silver is constantly annealed to insure that it is worked without breakage and remains strong. Clasps are also handmade, which are added at the end of the process, polished and completed.
Care an attention is required at all stages from beginning to the end so that you can appreciate the craftsmanship of this beautiful piece.
