Slip Cast porcelain cups

These handleless cups have a lovely soft quality and are very light to hold in the hands. Perfect for a warming brew on cold winter days.

These LIMITED EDITION slip-cast porcelain cups made from a plaster mould that I made from one of my carved kurinuki cups. Although the cups are cast in exactly the same mould, each one is entirely unique. You will notice some soft surface undulations and that they are not entirely symmetrical which I think adds to their charm.

Time is taken to refine each cup as it comes out of the mould, so slight differences occur the the outer form which gives them personality.

The colour of the cups is determined by the colour of the slip itself, so the colour you see is the actual body of the clay. Available in white (cream), pink, turquoise and black/grey.

Once bisque fired (the first firing), they are simply dipped in a transparent glaze and then fired for a second time to make them suitable for food use.

We do not use single use plastic in the production of this item.
