Oil painting on canvas, stretched over an 18x24 inch frame, with sides painted, so no need for framing. The main hare sits and watches us quietly among the madness behind him: where two other hares are boxing (as they do at this time of year) and another one scrambling across the background, maybe to join them. The madness of the season is reflected in the blue sky that has light lilac and white running and drippings of paint, which continues in the vibrant cadmium yellow and burnt sienna ground around the main character. There are some unexpected colours, such as greens, reds and blues in the hares to further shows the craziness of what they are doing.
