Colonia. Postcard size hand drawn pencil illustration. Circa 1996. Free UK delivery
This is a laminated (hand drawn in pencil) illustration of a street scene in the town of Colonia del Sacramento in south-western Uruguay. The town is located by the Rio de La Plata, and is opposite Buenos Aires. The image represents one of the street lamps - the style of which is synonymous with the town.
I visited the town in October 1996, as part of an 18 month long backpacking trip in South and Central America, which had started in June of that year from Venezuela.
