From Iran Commemorative plate

Solar Eclipse plate. 1997. Hand painted unknown edition. Free UK delivery.

I visited Iran for 3 weeks in August 1999, and part of that trip was spent in Esfahan, where I stayed with the family of a work colleague. The Solar Eclipse coincided with my time in the city , and this is a commemorative plate for the event. As you can see, the plate was never varnished and so some of the beautiful colour work has worn at the centre. The cardboard box the plate came in is a little age worn. Wording on the front of the box says: On the Occasion of 11 August 1999 Eclipse. RALART at ROSE.AC.JK..
