Vintage, genuine pre early 1960s large African (Ghana) Kente Cloth. Hollandiade. Kumasi Shanti. Free UK delivery.
This was given to me by my Mother over 30 years ago, and she gave me permission to sell. She died in October 2020, but I am sure she would be pleased that I have decided to sell it through Choughed Online Art, which she never got to know about.
She was presented with two pieces of cloth (the other is also being sold on here) whilst doing business with a Ghanian businessman in London in the early 1960s.
Unsure when exactly. The size is 190cm length-ways by 112 cm in width.
The colours are very bright and fast, and the condition of the cloth is immaculate. There are a few loose cotton strands on the edges, but this is the nature of the handwoven material. It is very likely you will want to see more images, and these can be readily supplied on request.
