HISTORY - The MGB GT (1965-1980) was a variant of the successful MGB roadster and featured a 1.8litre 4 cylinder engin it had a top speed of 105mph and was regarded at the time for being a sports coupe utility wagon. In 1967 they introduced the MGC with a straight six cylinder from the Austin 3 litre saloon but it was never successful due to indifferent handling and disappointing the public who were expecting a replacement to the primitive but exciting Austin Healey 3000. It was withdrawn in 1969 but the buyers had to wait until 1973 when the MGB GTV8 was produced with the lightweight, powerful, and well proven Buick/Rover 3500cc V8.
