A spalted chestnut plant pot holder
This is a turned spalted chestnut plant pot holder. Spalting is any form of wood colouration caused by fungi. Although primarily found in dead trees, spalting can also occur in living trees under stress. Although spalting can cause weight loss and strength loss in the wood, the unique coloration and patterns of spalted wood are sought by woodworkers. AS is the case with all my pieces this is not sealed using lacquers or varnishes. The piece is sealed using my own beeswax polish made from beeswax supplied by a local beekeeper.
We do not use single use plastic during the production
of this item.
