Fluorite Stripe Lattice Cushion

Hand woven from egyptian cotton using heritage techniques

Add a touch of soft vibrancy to your home with this luxurious, hand-woven cushion from the Lux Redux range. This item is carefully hand woven using beautifully soft Egyptian cotton yarn, in shades of purple, lilac, blue and grey. The diamond patterning on the stripes suggests mineral structure. Combine that with the slightly muted shades, and they bring a softly textured surface that will add a dash of colour and intrigue to any space. The delicately ridged texture of the grey surface adds a tactile delight to the neutral shade of the fabric.

Each item in the Lux Redux range has been designed and woven with care on my traditional-style floor loom, and then hand-finished, using the highest quality materials. The long-staple combed Egyptian cotton yarn used to weave the pattern panel of the cover is sturdy, pill-resistant, and colour-fast, whilst retaining a luxuriously soft feel. This, combined with a strong, smooth and colour-fast canvas back, constructed with an envelope-style closure, means that each cover is not only robust enough to be a daily luxury, but also looks and feels good enough to give years of pleasurable use.

The Lux Redux range of interior accessories began life as a response to my own work on my final graduate collection for my BA(Hons) degree in Textile Design, in the summer of 2019. The Fiat Lux collection looked at the way light could be used and manipulated in interiors using different materials and textures.

In the Lux Redux range, I wanted to explore more of the colour aspects of light – how the dominant white of my previous collection may be split into different shades of its component parts to produce vibrant, but more pleasingly tactile surfaces. In doing so, I combined the beautiful bright colours and softness of Egyptian cotton yarn, with the regular textured surface produced utilising the traditional family of huckaback weaves. The result is a range of interior accessories that would add a splash of soft vibrancy to any home. This range is still in production, and will eventually include linens and throws.

Care instructions:
You can choose to hand wash the covers, or machine wash them, inside out, on a gentle cycle at 30°C. They should be dried flat.
The cushion pads are constructed of 100 percent organic cotton outer, with a plump, bouncy and easy to care for microfiber filling which is hypoallergenic and anti-dust mite. The manufacturer’s website states that the pad can be machine-washed at 40°C.

One square cushion cover (measuring approximately 40x40cm / 16x16 in), with one square cushion pad (measuring 40x40cm / 16x16 in). Please note, the measurements given for the cover are stated as approximate due to its non-machine made nature.

We do not use single use plastic in the production of this item.
