THE STORY BEHIND THIS MAKE
It was Christmas 2017 when a friend bought my daughter, who was 6 months old at the time, a turtle and 128034 cuddly toy.
My daughter is now 26 months and to this day, she’s never separated from Turtle (yes, the name of her Turtle is Turtle!). Turtle sleeps with Tessa-Rose, it goes to the Childminder’s with her, it comes shopping with us, sits on the bath tub when Tessa-Rose has a shower and comes on holiday with us.
In the meantime, we have acquired more turtles in the past 26 months, in the shape of cuddly toys, necklaces, Pandora charms, etc. We have even adopted a Turtle through the WWF.
She saw the first real turtle when she was just over a year old and I’ll never forget the stupor on her face.
This summer, we took a very deserved holiday to Florida. While we were out there, we took her to Sea World (please refrain from giving enraged comments on this, because I am not interested in reasons as to why we shouldn’t go to places like Sea World). While at Sea World, all Tessa could talk about was going to see the turtles, which we did multiple times to keep her happy.
Also, while out there, we booked an experience during which she could meet and stroke dolphins and 128044. We weren’t sure how she’d react, but she showed a real interest in marine life and ended up actually liking stroking dolphins. From that moment onwards, she started spotting dolphins wherever we went to. “Mummy that’s a dolphin!”.
She keeps looking at the photos we took while we were away, and likes to point the things that she saw.
On that note, I have designed something for her bedroom, which I can’t wait to give to her, for I believe it’ll leave her speechless.
I’ve done decorations before, and have worked with felt for the past 2 years, yet this the make I am most proud of.
