“I am a Ceramic Artist and make a range of Ceramic Gifts.”
I live in beautiful Wiltshire in the West of England.
I have always been inspired by the natural environment and its relationship with architecture, so not surprisingly I have a background as a Landscape Architect. Previous to studying Landscape Architecture I studied Ceramic Design followed by Industrial Design at Central St Martins, London in the 1990ís.
All my items are hand made. As a hand builder I use traditional hand building techniques. I create a range of Ceramic Art from Wall Hangings to Decorative Boxes. I am passionate about colour, texture and form and I love to be inspired and challenged by what I see and get excited by the unusual.
My boxes have been created with a love of the natural environment and how it blends with architectural forms. I particularly love the way, vegetation can blend with buildings creating new forms and shapes, the way exposure to the elements can change their colour and surfaces. I use a variety of techniques for example, slab rolling and building, imprints, sprigging, carving and coiling. I work intuitively, not always knowing where the forms and textures will lead which makes the whole process inspiring.
