“Handcrafted individually designed fused home decor glass pieces”
I work full time in education as transition between Primary and Secondary. I have always held an interest in art and now have my own glass kiln. In my spare time I work from home designing and creating bespoke glass pieces such as candle arches, candle squares, boats and book marks. All my pieces are hand crafted and fused in my glass kiln. My work can incorporate a variety of colour to suit personal taste and decor. The process for each piece can take around 12 hours to fully fuse or if slumping is required this will be done over an additional kiln firing of a further 12 hours.
I regularly attend local craft fairs and have been asked to do workshops for several WI groups and at events at The Garden Rooms at Tennants, Leyburn. I have recently exhibited in the Bath House, RHS Gardens, Harlow Carr, Harrogate. At the moment i have various pieces at Just Makers, Ripley Castle.
Some of my fused glass work is exhibited in the North East Art Collective, Eldon Garden, Newcastle which showcases original work of over 100 artists from around the North East including prints, photography, jewellery, glass, ceramics and sculptures. I also have work in The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle which is a commercial art gallery showcasing the work of more than 200 artists and Thornthwaite Galleries, Keswick, Cumbria which is an opportunity for me to exhibit work among established artisans in a variety of disaplins.
I am currently working on pieces for British Craft Trade Fair, Harrogate, where I will have a stand in the newcomers area in April 2017.
