“ResinExpectations is the name I use to sell my hand crafted resin gifts”
ResinExpectations began as a hobby, a desire to be creative, and do something that was just for me, while running the bar at a social club. I was soon having requests from customers and friends, to make items for them. I moved to Farnham, Surrey, back in 1995 to study at the Art College, and subsequently, having gained a degree and masters in Design Management, took a change in direction, to work in the on-trade for most of my adult life. I was never long without a creative hobby.
Working with resin has become so much more than that though. Experimenting with colours, and inclusions, is part of the attraction. I love its versatility, from jewellery making, through to homewares, and other gifts. The beauty of a simple flower or pine cone often needs no other additions to make a stunning piece of jewellery, or decorative item for the home. Metal leaf can add a touch of luxury, and the range of colour pigments is extensive. Sometimes we all just need a little sparkle, and that is where glitter comes into its own.
In addition, I often add watch parts (Steampunk feel), beads, sequins, confetti, shells, and feathers. Taking inspiration from everywhere in order to make gifts, that put smiles on the faces of both those gifting and receiving my work.
Every item is intended to be unique, unless a bespoke order of multiples are requested. One off designs can be made for you, including gifts, keepsakes, decorative items for your home, and memorial pieces. These include clocks, decorated wooden boxes, earrings and pendants, paw print and letter keyrings.
I use online selling platforms Etsy and Heartizan, as well as sharing my work on Instagram and on my Facebook page. I also rent a space in the Camberley branch of the Craft Coop, and attend markets and craft fairs throughout the year.
