“Goldwork embroidery on silk - a technique using a mixture of metal threads and wires”
Querkyzuerky - Hand embroidered goldwork on silk - this technique uses a mixture of threads and wires and was historically used for church embroidery, but also royal and military embroidery. After learning the technique, I began stitching ecclesiastical items and there are several of my pieces in use in local churches.
However I do make pictures and smaller items such as modern pieces of jewellery - generally brooches and pendants and also trinket boxes with hand embroidered lids.
Each piece of needlework is hand stitched and unique.
