“Artisan Silversmith, London Assay registered maker of jewellery in sterling silver and gold.”
I am an artisan Silversmith who has been practising the craft for many years, and in that time I have been fortunate to have had the privilege of learning under the guidance of several Master Silversmiths/Jewellers.
Whilst I can make flatware and other non-jewellery items in precious metals, my specialism is in making bespoke jewellery. In addition to creating unique bespoke items for clients, I also always have a comprehensive and diverse range of ready made items available.
I am registered at the London Assay Office (The Goldsmiths Company) and I am also a member of the prestigious UK Association of Contemporary Jewellers.
Like most Silversmiths, I am influenced by things I see every day. However, I do have certain constants that inspire me. I am fascinated by ancient jewellery design and the techniques used, and you will often find me hanging around the precious metal exhibits in the British Museum making notes. I also find the bold lines of the Moderne (Art Deco) movement (not just jewellery, but also architecture as well) a great influence. I am continually inspired by the wonderful natural forms and textures of the English Lake District, and my ‘business’ name is a good indicator of just how much inspiration I find there. My overall design style is bold and it plays with contrasts/textures.
