and hobbs is a home ware store in the stunning village of Shere in the Surrey Hills.

A place of creativity we house many stunning items for your home, all of which are carefully sourced by me (Libby Hobbs, the lady behind this venture) from independent makers and family run businesses. Along side the treasure collection, a collection of found and vintage home accessories and furniture. Some of these pieces are adorned with hand painted details, others are left to simple be.
Developing this cohesive collection has been such a dream for me as the creator and director of this small business. My ethic is that you do not have to buy into items that are produced a million times, or even that if you buy one type of accessory for your home that means that that is simply the style that you follow there after. I believe a home has layers. Items that you find from many places, being created by many people, with many ideas and stories to tell.

We stock handmade candles, artwork, gift cards designed by illustrators, dress making scissors and hand crocheted blankets amongst many other items that will make you swoon. I am incredibly lucky to have such talented makers within my reach that I can now share with you all.

As part of this creative community we hold many workshops where local and visiting artists come to share their skills. From floral design, weaving, painting, illustration and willow work we have many short and intensive glasses in the pipe line.

We also have a gallery space within the store for local makers and designers to exhibit within. Weather it be a workshop, art lesson, exhibition or Pop-Up shop the space is there for independent to show their venture!
