Marcelle K Jewellery

I have been a Crafter from childhood. I got involved with Gemstones and silver whilst ill, watching my mentor Natalia Coleman.

When I was a young girl I was into the Arts and crafts from my late mother. She was a known artist in London and also created costumes for the Scouts, Cubs and Brownies. I also helped with restoration pieces. I made Jewellery with my mother and in my late teens I had one of my watercolours hanging in the Portsmouth Guildhall exhibitions where my painting was also bought.
I started to create my own jewellery again after an illness, I watched a jewellery channel and got involved in Gemstones and Silver and metal clays. My interest grew along with my tools and gemstones, this gave me the confidence to enroll in college for C and G Silversmithing, I was taught a lot more with other mediums too. Excited when i received my certificates with distinctions and merits.
With my confidence growing I decided to create my own designs, branching out to Facinators and Wedding and Prom regalia. Before long i was asked to do commissions for a wedding, Christening and to design a facinator for a lady going to the races.
I use Genuine Gemstones in my jewellery and combine all mediums from Sterling Silver to Polymer clay to semi precious metal clays. There are no boundaries as hoping to start a course in stained and fused glass to add to my list of certificates.
I offer Wedding and Prom packages and offer clear and precise advise on choices if needed, for instance you would not want a clash of colours at a wedding and that can happen a lot. I also re-string Pearls, this is one of the first things i was taught by my late mum in restoration.
I love carrying out Commissions as this is an adventure.
Although I am based in Havant Hampshire, I travel to Winchester, Portsmouth, Fareham and Bishops Waltham to name a few to attend craft fairs to show my Art of Jewellery. I love travelling to different venues as this is getting my name out to the public and some of the areas I attend are beautiful and this fuels my inspirations in designing. All my silver is Hallmarked and i am registered at the Edinburgh Assay office for my precious metal as well as having my own makers punch of MK added to the Hallmarking. I am now embarking on applying for the grants for the Arts this will further my interest in other mediums and to help young adults with learning difficulties.
I am now a member of Concious Crafties.
