Anne Pearson Designs is all about creating unique dreamcatchers, fibre art wall hangings, jewellery and gifts.
I have always been interested in art and craft, trying several different forms over the years including macramé many years ago. Quite recently an injury kept me away from my day job for a couple of weeks and sat at home bored I renewed my interest in macramé and knotwork items. However it wasnt until almost a year later that I became a business as my items were becoming popular and I was being asked to sell them.
I started with simple jewellery pieces using quite thick cord but as I mastered the knots I then progressed to finer pieces using 1mm nylon cord which is still my favourite for jewellery.
These pieces are produced using mainly traditional macramé knots, in particular the half hitch, larks head and square knot, though now and again I incorporate other knot types. The knotwork is combined with a variety of beads and presented in either organza bags, gift boxes or beautiful hand made pillow boxes. My jewellery is finished with either a button and loop fastening, making it especially easy to fit for those with less nimble fingers or with silver plated lobster clasps.
The designs can be tailored to individual tastes of colours and bead/charm combinations and can be designed for both males and females. When designing for men, I tend to use either the button and loop fastening or a more simple, silver plated hook fastening.
The competition for jewellery is quite fierce and as with many good quality handcrafted items the time taken to produce the pieces makes them expensive compared to other jewellery forms so early in 2016 I took the decision to expand my work to include other gift ideas particularly wall hangings and dreamcatchers as I could then continue the work that I love but also produce pieces which rather than functional are decorative.
At present time I am working from home which is a little town on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border called Todmorden, originally a mill town with plenty of history and in a fantastic area, close to many cities including Manchester and Leeds, bigger towns such as Burnley, Rochdale and Halifax and smaller places like itself for history, culture and beautiful scenery. It also has close road links to the cities, coast, Dales and Lake District making it a fantastic place to live and work.
I have accounts with Facebook, twitter, instagram and pinterest, am a member of many online craft groups and also a member of the Professional Crafters Guild and Todmorden Art Group.
My work has been exhibited at local events, has been for sale at local art and craft fairs and is now available via my tictail shop.

Although many of my items are ready to despatch, in most cases a specific piece will need to be made to order. Please allow at least 2 weeks from the receipt of the order for the piece to be produced and despatched. At busier times of the year this may increase, however I will contact you when I receive the order to advise on despatch times.
