Designer producing a uniquely designed range of digitally printed cork placemats and coasters, greetings cards and other home accessories
Decorque says unique design, pattern, colour and British made a one-stop card and gift shop.
From the quintessentially English roses and birds to the exotic parrots, toucans and hummingbirds. Mixing the hand drawn and painted with Illustrator and Photoshop I create imaginery scenes which I like to think bring something new, an individula look - a creative touch - to my homeware cork collection and stationery products. Having trained as a textile designer and created designs for the fashion industry for many years classic but are on trend for todays market..
The Decorque signature range is my cork placemats, table mats and coasters. The company name comes from a fusion of the words Decor and Cork, but with a slight twist - Corque. Decorque my Home Accessories website has not disappeared it is now under Decorque Cards. It just means you can buy your gift, greetings card and gift tags all in one place.
What makes Decorque different? I have my patterns digitally printed on cork, which is the only successful way of producing the highly detailed pattern and extensive colour palette of my own unique designs. The end product is amazing, carefully crafted to retain the warm tactile quality and natural appearance of the cork, the pattern is permanent so cannot be wiped or scratched off.
Cork is a natural eco-friendly material, much more in use again these days because of its amazing practical properties of being, hard wearing, heat resistant and does not scratch polished surfaces.
At the moment the only printed cork available elsewhere is a one colour print on cork, so my range is unique on the market.
I love the idea of not just printing on cork but using it as an element of design throughout my other ranges of, plastic placemats, mouse mats, art prints, printed and hand-crafted greetings cards, cushions and lampshades. From being printed on cork, to cork being printed on paper!
There are some great gift ideas and I have added some fabulous new card collections too: Birds of a Feather, Natural Wildlife, Tropical wonders of Nature, Melange on Black and Decorative Valance. Tropical Wonders includes wild cats, zebras, elephants, leopards, pandas and birds of paradise and many more. My British wildlife subjects are the Kingfisher, herons, ducks, swans, game birds and a real favourite, owls. Todays customers are looking for personalised cards for special occasions, which is something I offer with many of my Handmade Card Range. I also do commissions, cards for a very special occasion, Birthday, or family event.
