I started sewing during lockdown, although I was working as a nurse in the front line. I found it therapeutic. I make a variety of bags, I started by making a cross body bag to use for walking my own dogs. Friends and family commented and soon commissions were coming in. I have an Etsy shop Ivythumbs, but if I’m honest my marketing skills are rubbish. Another favourite is mini tote bag.
Wherever possible I use recycled materials gifted from friends and family, (or stolen from husband’s wardrobe). I also buy items from charity shops to upcycle in my projects.
