Handmade jewellery lovingly crafted from unloved wood

I take scraps and offcuts of wood that might otherwise go to waste and turn them into beautiful and unique jewellery. The designs are generally inspired by the wood, either from the grain or the shape, and finished with a protective wax or lacquer.
The wood is often donated by other wood workers, bought offcuts, pruned from the garden or collected while walking (I only collect dead wood). I then cut to shape and I sand the pieces into pendants and earrings enhancing them with sterling silver findings.
I was inspired to start by seeing a heart shaped pendant in a shop which my wife liked and thinking I could make that myself from a piece of old church pew I had in the garage. It was harder than it looked but I’ve upgraded my tools and techniques since then.
My ethos is to be as eco-friendly as possible using recycled materials where I can, especially with the packaging.
