I’m Sara Holman, a self-taught, neurodivergent artist and founder of Sazperilla – Creative Handmade Crafts, based near Canterbury.
Sazperilla is the creative home of Sara Holman, a self-taught, neurodivergent artist based near Canterbury, Kent.
Sara works primarily with clay, fire, and natural materials, creating handmade pottery, Raku ceramics, sculptural clay forms, and woven willow crafts. Her work celebrates the beauty of imperfection, the rhythm of natural materials, and the emotional freedom of creative expression.
Sara’s ADHD plays a central role in her artistic process — fuelling spontaneous bursts of energy, deep focus, and an intuitive sense of form and texture. Each piece is individually made, guided by instinct rather than repetition, making every object one-of-a-kind.
Sazperilla’s style blends earthy, organic textures with expressive finishes, often combining materials such as clay and willow in ways that reflect the meeting point between nature and art. From functional cups and bowls to Raku-fired art pieces and sculptural works, her creations are tactile, soulful, and designed to be both used and treasured.
Beyond creating art, Sara is passionate about sharing the wellbeing benefits of craft. Through local workshops and community sessions, she helps others explore creativity as a mindful, grounding process. Every aspect of Sazperilla — from sourcing UK-grown willow and sustainable clays to eco-conscious packaging — reflects her belief that craft should connect people to the natural world and to themselves.
Sazperilla continues to grow as a small, independent brand rooted in authentic craftsmanship, sustainability, and neurodivergent creativity — offering unique, meaningful handmade pieces that bring calm, beauty, and connection into everyday life.
