I have recently retired as a Midwife within the NHS and am now able to pursue my love of crafting and producing art work. This is a very new venture, but I am loving every minute, creating, and playing with natural materials to produce items that I am very proud of, and will hopefully capture the attention of potential customers. My business name is: Beach Wood and Bumble.

I create all my pieces from Beachwood, Shells, Sea glass and old Pallet wood. They are all unique, with some being storage items and others pieces of Art. Each piece could be free standing on shelves or desks, with some suitable for mounting on a wall. I like to recognise and respect the raw materials and not remove all evidence of what the wood was once used for. The pallet wood is sanded to either enhance the imperfections or grain, and the final piece is made to not be fully uniform, but rather rustic.

I try to let the wood talk to me and therefore the majority of my products are one of a kind. Many of the items are also named, which is written underside or on the back, as it tells a story of the idea and manufacture. When I know that a piece is finished and ready for display and selling, i attach a tiny Bee onto it.
