Fluid and Abstract Art Using Paint Pouring Techniques
I am based in rural Norfolk, England and live with my husband and our border collie.
After seeing this form of artwork on social media, I decided I’d like to give it a try. My husband being the ever so thoughtful man he is bought me a set of ready mixed acrylic paints specifically for paint pouring. However, it was sometime before I got around to having a play. So, finally in April 2024, I set up a studio area, bought the other items required for the basics and started this art. I realised it was great fun, with lots to learn and to continue learning as there are so many different techniques. However, I never once thought, that I might actually sell some of my paintings but I have and the feeling you get is, well, amazing. I have sold across the continent and also several to the USA. In a village local to me I have a few on display in a farm shop.
Paint pouring has lots of varying techniques which are exciting to learn and get the hang of! Its very therapeutic and I just love painting them. Starting with basic flip cups which is layering a cup of different colours and literally flipping it onto the canvas to ones that contain silicone oil to give a cell effect and lots more, too many to list.
Costume jewellery using paint skins are another part of my craft using the leftover paint, so no waste here! At the moment they are available as a set of earrings and necklace with a choice of either a waxed cord or stainless chain.
Once the painting has cured it is then varnished with a satin varnish.
I am happy to discuss bespoke options with regards to colours, sizes and creation methods to help fit in with your personal decor.
