House of Piper

I wanted to use the name Piper for this endeavour to highlight that women can do amazing things with wood too

Welcome to the House of Piper.
I’m a one-man (well, woman actually!) band, designing and creating beautiful and unique wooden wonders out of my workshop…okay, technically it’s my conservatory, but that sounds a bit boring!
Piper is the name of our gorgeous chocolate cocker spaniel who burst into our lives 2.5 years ago – much to the surprise of her older brother Jesse. I wanted to use the name Piper for this endeavour to highlight that women can do amazing things with wood too – and I hope you like what you see.
From magical looking mirrors and cool clocks to sexy small side tables, with a sprinkling of extra-special egg cups and bodacious business card holders in between – I just sit down with some wood and see what happens.
Sometimes my slightly off-kilter imaginings work, and the end result will go up for sale on here – hurrah! But other times, the idea turns out to be utter rubbish and ends up on the wood burner.
Whatever happens, I focus on using scrap and off cuts that I pick up here and there with the aim of recycling and renewing! I love working with live edge wood in particular as it has such a mind-blowing grain to it, but I am happy to work with any piece of wood that gets my creative juices flowing…
