Mike creates an eclectic range of hand-turned wood pieces, from egg cups to bespoke furniture to one-off objects D’Art

Mike’s professional career spans 52 years that include diverse but related trades.
He was a key member in the successful family fine art business which was based in Islington London for 24 years, specialising in intaglio printing. After the family business was sold, Mike then changed his career direction and has created a successful carpentry and joinery business that has spanned the last 28 years.

Drawing on these creative, woodwork and technical skills, Mike is now focusing on wood turning and creating all manner of pieces, bespoke furniture, home ornaments and utensils Objects D’Art.

Mike likes to use a variety of woods and where possible sources his material from local areas, a favourite being driftwood from Monmouth beach, Lyme Regis. Many pieces include incorporating resin and or have a hand-painted feature.
