Beverly Usher Handcrafted Textiles

Ive been weaving for more than 40 years, delighting in the opportunities for creating lovely cloth.

Textiles have been part of my life since I was a small child and have accompanied me throughout my life. I weave, spin, dye, knit, crochet and sew and love to combine the various crafts.

I weave all kinds of things from tea towels to yardage for clothing, but most of my work recently has been making one-of-a-kind handwoven, hand-dyed shawls.

I love colour, so always look forward to getting out the dye pots. I work with fibre reactive dyes as I mostly dye cotton yarns and cotton cloth.

I love to spin fine yarns from multi-coloured wool or cotton to use either for weaving or to knot or crochet into fine lace shawls.
