I am a watercolour artist, collage artist and potter.
As an artist I aspire to create original, emotive, and beautiful pieces of work to be cherished for years to come.
My landscapes are imaginary and inspired by the expansive terrain of the Scottish Highlands and the undulating valleys of South Wales, which is my heritage. My watercolour landscapes incorporate collage from books that have meaning to me, I often use these to inspire the names of my paintings, and I add marks using stitching and other materials.
I am drawn to the natural world as inspiration across all my work, which also includes British wildlife, loose floral watercolours, painted paper collage and colourful graphic style painting. I now also make small decorative porcelain ceramics, based on the little houses I paint and other useful items. Not only is the natural world my inspiration, but it also has provided me with comfort and grounding throughout my life, particularly during difficult times. I combine a contemporary approach honouring quiet elements of the earth, land and skies which existed long before us.
My work is uncomplicated and leaves minimal impact on the earth, and I offset the use of wood and paper by tree planting for every item sold with Tree Nation. There is no better designer than the natural world and my work is my tribute to it.
I have been exhibiting in England and Wales since 2021, including Oxfordshire Artweeks, Buckinghamshire Artweeks, Country Living Christmas Fairs, Art in Penallt, Ayot Art Show, Longwick Art Show, Art on the Hill, Oxford Museum Art Fair, Otmoor Art Fair, Broadway Arts Festival, Art in the Park Leamington and many many more. In 2023 my studio stash was pretty much exhausted from the popularity of my work during Oxfordshire Artweeks! I also produce prints, cards and gifts and you can find these on my Etsy shop and in a limited number of stockists. See my events page for these and where you’ll see me next.
