Rachel Wood Jewellery - Silversmith

Rachel Wood Jewellery

I handmake jewellery in recycled silver using traditional silversmithing techniques.

I make simple, beautiful, handmade silver jewellery based around organic shapes and textures. I have been working in silver on and off for 15 years and now have a workshop space in my home near Bath. I enjoy working with different techniques, exploring the possibilities of silver as a medium, including reticulation, keum boo, casting in sand or cuttle fish and granulation as well as more classic shaping and texturing methods. I aim to make pieces that are easy to wear but feel special because they are created by hand, meaning that each one is unique.

All silver is recycled and my items are packaged in recyclable and/ or recycled boxes and bags.

In another part of my life I am a lecturer and lawyer, running a law clinic for a university providing free legal advice to the public. The clinic works with a charity in Bath called Voices which provides support for survivors of domestic abuse. I donate 5 percent of the purchase price for my pieces to Voices to help them continue with their work.
