Woollen Pleasure

I am a retired language teacher and would like to devote my time more to art and craft. I make delicate knitted and crochet items.

I have a few specialised Etsy shops. But I prefer to meet my customers in person.

I sell mainly dog and owner sets in the winter time. I make matching knitted woollen dog jumpers and woollen hats for their owners. The dog owners love them and the dogs feel cosy and warm. What a joy. I offer 5 different dog jumper sizes in stocking stitch and one standard adult woollen hat size in rib stitch. I use self patterning wool.

I also make German crochet potholders. I learnt this skill from my late mum. Over time, I developed more and more potholder designs and refined my crochet technique. I use different colours and 100 percent aran or dk cotton so that the items are machine washable at 60° celsius.

My adult daughters loved the crochet tops I designed. I decided to create more designs using the shell and lace stitch. I use mainly 4 ply cotton. These garments are very popular in the hot summer.

I love to make multicoloured items that are pleasing to the eye.
