Katie has a public piece on permanent show in Wolverhampton situated on a roundabout. Specialising in abstract forms, Katie’s work now explores ideas surrounding process and chance encounters. In her current series of fluid paintings, forms and colours are brought together by the artist’s hand but manipulated through the natures forces. The work has been either spun or vibrated while others rely on the reaction between materials and of course gravity. The paintings within this body of work are built up of multiple layers using alcohol ink and powders. Each work being unique in its own right and each creating it’s own flowing abstract surface left open to the viewer to interpret.
