My name is Helen Murphy , I am 59 married to Tom and Mum to four grown up sons.I have been sewing , crafting etc..since very young

I am a dedicated crafter , enjoying predominately mosaic art and producing small decorative pieces as well as larger installations such as doorsteps and washroom floor , I host mosaic workshops and really enjoy the array of styles and designs created by people who thought they couldnt achieve anything arty or crafty !
I have always made things and growing up was keen to learn how to sew , being taught some skills by my Mother and Grandmother its never left me and I sew regularly to this day - I particularly enjoy using vintage fabrics and creating bags full of character and the fact that fabric is being reused and repurposed makes me happy, also making cushion covers and using the art of appliqué to embellish is so much fun to do.
I like to try new crafts and regularly create candles using Vintage jelly moulds and olive wood bowls with beautiful fragrances and finish with dried flower petals and leaves.
I am a partner with my husband in a framing and art display business so get inspiration from artwork that we see everyday to be framed and then displayed in different locations - homes and galleries etc..
I create something most days and am now working on oyster shell and scallop shell decorative decoupage for wedding favours and Christmas themed hanging shell decorations - which proved very popular last year.
