Most of my work is about the enigmatic and spiritual quality of trees.
I am a Brighton based artist with a studio at Stanmer Craft museum. I produce work on reclaimed wood
Most of my work is about the enigmatic and spiritual quality of trees whether that is the magnificence of a single tree with the the intricate natural balance of the branches or a tree lined hidden path. I want my images to remind the viewer of walks they have taken and to have a nostalgic almost fairy tale quality The images are photographs simply edited and cropped, then transposed onto carefully selected wood. I always have the John Muir quote in mind when I create my pieces, “The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.”
I also create Brighton themed work where I use the same process to capture the ever-changing fading grandeur of the West Pier and other iconic aspects of Brighton.
