I love to create beautiful scenes and images that reflect the perfection of nature surrounding us
My name is Chris Paige, and I am an amateur artist based in Daventry.
I grew up in the 1980s as a member of a middle-class family on the outskirts of Northampton, and as a child I used to draw and paint a regularly. For me it became a means of connecting with nature and escaping what I unconsciously felt to be the daily grind of complying with the world of man. When I grew up, I ended up working in the field of architecture, and for many years I rarely found time and energy to paint.
During the Covid lockdown I went without work for few months, and I used the opportunity to create a few paintings which I felt came out much better than I had expected them to, and I also discovered to my surprise that some of the people I knew genuinely liked them. This experience has encouraged me to continue to paint.
I think that when people go on holiday, they often like to go to the countryside, seaside, mountains etc, and to experience the majesty of the wilderness and to experience the the perfection of nature which surrounds us. It is this perception of the beauty of nature and of ‘escaping the grind’ that is the underlying theme to my art and that which drives me to paint.
I am producing Original Paintings, Prints, Mounted Prints and Cards.
I hope that you like my work.
