I am a Lancashire artist working in watercolour , acrylics and mixed media. I enjoy creating vivid semi abstract pieces .

I am inspired mainly by flora and fauna .My work often has a bright , eye catching background with loosely painted subjects to create certain moods .
Mostly I paint decorative pieces that I hope will liven up a home . Many of these are floral designs but I also have fun with landscapes too.
Some of my designs are also available in the form of greetings cards .
I am new to selling after retiring from a career as a primary school teacher . I always loved teaching art and the children clearly preferred those lessons to ones involving passive and active verbs or fractions ! Sadly the arts had slowly been squeezed out of the curriculum because these subjects didnt contribute to SATS results .I have three grandchildren and another one on the way .I am going to make sure they value creative activities and benefit from the joy they bring .
