Striking and elegant, handmade sterling silver jewellery with flashes of coloured shimmering resin.
Following a Foundation Course at The Central School of Art and Design, I studied at Middlesex Polytechnic. Although specialising in jewellery, I integrated textile elements, particularly knitting, into my work. As part of the course I was lucky to work for the jeweller Alison Baxter and the textile company Artworks. These experiences influenced my final work of handknitted garments joined and adorned in coloured perspex.
My work has always been influenced by Henri Matisse, especially the unique shapes and colours of his paper cut-outs.
After moving to Surrey with my 3 children, I completed my teacher training and have loved my career as an infant school teacher but have always enjoyed creating pieces, whether sewn, knitted or even papier-mâchéd! Now I am seizing the chance to tie these strands together as I now teach part-time whilst running my jewellery business.
