Anthony Taylor - academic retired to woodturning, making useful and artistic pieces of all kinds
I seek wood of all kinds, but principally English and turn pieces of every description. Examples are: bowls, boxes, vases, hollow forms, platters, pens, door knobs, finials, pepper mills. I prefer to avoid production turning, but like to continually experiment with new ideas. My latest speciality is Clarice Cliff look-alikes. When the wood is beautiful in itself, I finish with oil, wax or lacquer, but plain wood lends itself to decoration with stains paints or pyrography. I am willing to make special items to order, such as a bowl from a tree sadly lost from your garden or an urn for your pets ashes.
