Selling upcycled handbags, clothes from ring pulls from canned drinks and bags from inner tube of truck tyres
Purple Community Fund ( PCF) is a UK registered charity supporting our sister charity in the Philippines. We support children and their families who live and work on the Philippine dump sites or relocation sites through a holistic approach, providing integrated services in education, livelihood and business skills, health and nutrition and social welfare programmes in 6 geographical areas. One of our projects is running workshops for the parents of our school children, producing handbags, clothing, accessories and household items from recycled ring pulls from canned drinks, glossy magazines, and inner tubes from truck tyres. The parents work in our air conditioned workshops, are paid for every item they make, they receive a daily free hot meal, free health care, education for their children. Unique saving plan is ran by parents which PCF contributes to and this enables the parents to start their own supplementary business to increase their income and provide employment for other members of their family. Our beautiful and creative products are sold online, through retail outlets, festivals and craft events. 100 percent of the profit made from selling the products are returned to the programs to help more families. PCF works with 65,000 - 70,000 people each year which indirectly benefits approximately 325,000 - 350,000 family members a year.
